Americans should not be burdended with the cost of President Trump's war against Iran. The costs in lives, taxpayer dollars, and America’s standing in the world far outweigh any possible benefit. While the extent remains unknown, these losses were predictable.

My heart is with their families and loved ones of the service members who made the ultimate sacrifice.

This war is already costing taxpayers billions while working families here at home face rising prices at the pump and growing economic strain. This administration said food assistance and health care subsidies cost too much, but it started a war that is costing taxpayers a billion dollars every single day. It is time to stand up and demand a stop to this war before we suffer more damage that cannot be undone.

-Full Press Release available at GingerforUS.com

New Lisbon, WI — Ginger Murray, atty. and Dem. candidate for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District, is calling on Congress to end the use of taxpayer dollars to quietly pay for political misconduct and reward political allies.

Since 1995, more than $17 million in taxpayer money has reportedly been used to settle congressional sexual harassment and misconduct claims.

“Taxpayers should never pay for politicians’ misconduct,” said Murray. “It is time to clean up the cover ups. They don’t protect victims, they protect predators.”

Murray also criticized the newly announced DOJ “commission” tied to $1.8 billion in taxpayer funds for President Trump’s political allies and convicted felons.

“Using $1.8 billion of our tax money to reward anyone that assaulted a police officer, incited or engaged in the insurrection, or committed a crime is not a settlement, it’s a shakedown,” Murray said.

Murray said both issues reflect the same problem: powerful people using public money to avoid accountability while working families struggle.

“Congress can’t seem to find funds needed to keep the lights on at our rural hospitals or pay promised funds to our public schools, but it can quietly cut checks to cover up misconduct by its own members?” Murray said. “Wisconsin families work too hard and pay too much in taxes for this political corruption and cover ups.”

As a member of Congress, Murray says she will support legislation requiring full disclosure of misconduct settlements, personal financial liability for intentional misconduct, and stronger oversight of claims paid with taxpayer funds.

NEW LISBON, WI — Congressional Candidate and District 7 resident Ginger Murray

(D-New Lisbon) opposes this war with Iran, saying the costs — in lives, money, and America's global reputation — are simply too high. "The losses were predictable," she said, "and the costs of this war far outweigh any benefits."

Murray- referring to flag-draped coffins of fallen American soldiers returning home for the last time, shared a heartfelt comment, "I honor their service and their sacrifice, and offer my deepest sympathies to their families and loved ones."

She was deeply shaken by the bombing of a girls' school that killed more than 150 people — most of them children. Murray blamed President Trump directly. "The president and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth called the attack 'precise' and 'laser focused, but our own weapon killed those children in their classrooms,” noted Murray, characterizing the President’s rush to war as reckless....

New Lisbon, WI — Ginger Murray, Democratic candidate for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District, today launched her first television ad — and she didn’t come empty-handed. In “Straight Shooter,” the plain-talking candidate faces the camera, shotgun in hand, and destroys a piggy bank labeled “billionaire tax cuts.”

"I support real tax relief for our families," Murray said. "But Congress passed a bill that hands the overwhelming share of tax benefits to billionaires and corporations while cutting the essential programs that our families and rural communities depend on. That's not tax relief — that's a rigged system.” Murray added, “I’ve got billionaire tax cuts in my sights when I go to Congress."

The numbers tell the story: under the new law, the average millionaire household pockets over $100,000 in tax relief. Families earning under $50,000 get less than a dollar a day. According to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, the bill slashes taxes by up to $4.5 trillion — with the overwhelming share flowing to the top 1%. At the same time, it cuts more than $1 trillion from the health care programs that rural hospitals and working families across northern Wisconsin depend on.

“Straight Shooter” starts airing across northern Wisconsin on May 11, 2026. It’s the first Democratic TV ad of the race.

"I'm a straight shooter, and I'll always put families and folks in the north woods first," Murray adds.

To view the ad or join Ginger’s campaign, visit: www.GingerForUs.com

Dark money is drowning out the voices of everyday Americans.

We cannot restore faith in our elections or in our democracy without getting dark money out of our campaigns. Corporations and billionaires should never be able to buy our elections. If elected to Congress, I will work diligently to remove dark money from our elections and return power to the people where it belongs.

I strongly support the We the People Amendment. It would end corporate personhood, overturn the Citizens United decision, allow Congress and the states to regulate money in politics, and require full public disclosure of political spending.

I believe in free speech. But you do not have to be a lawyer to recognize that corporations are not people and money is not speech.

Right now, corporate backed dark money groups can spend unlimited amounts in elections. Without transparency, voters have no way to follow the money.

While some of my opponents may be relying on special interest corporate money, I am proud to run a grassroots campaign supported by people across the Northwoods who believe our democracy should belong to the people.

I cannot wait to get to Congress and join the movement to make the We the People Amendment the law of the land.

Write a short blurb about an issue your campaign is highlighting. Try to keep the text a similar size between the various issue blurbs.
