Meet Ginger Murray

A proud Northwoods native, small business owner, and lifelong advocate for her community, Ginger is running for United States Congress: in Wisconsin's 7th district. She's committed to common sense solutions, leadership by example, real results for families, and dropping divisive tactics to return to bringing people together because we're truly... Better Together.

Our priorities

Results for US

These are some of the top priorities our campaign is focused on.

Education

Classrooms need to be safe places that support academic success. This requires aligning administration and staff, empowering educators, and demanding payment of promised government funds for Northwoods schools to ensure students in rural communities receive the same or better opportunities as available elsewhere.

Economic Stability

Championing policies that provide respectable compensation to working families, profits for small businesses, and sustainable job growth across the district.

Healthcare

Everyone deserves access to quality, affordable care — a fix is past due for the underserved rural communities where hospital and clinic closures and shortages are ever-increasing.

Enviromental Safeguards

Protecting Northern Wisconsin’s land, water, and natural resources, while safely maintaining essential consumption of these invaluable resources to support the region’s economy and identity.

Murray Speaks Out Against Costs of War

Americans should not be burdended with the cost of President Trump's war against Iran. The costs in lives, taxpayer dollars, and America’s standing in the world far outweigh any possible benefit. While the extent remains unknown, these losses were predictable.

My heart is with their families and loved ones of the service members who made the ultimate sacrifice.

This war is already costing taxpayers billions while working families here at home face rising prices at the pump and growing economic strain. This administration said food assistance and health care subsidies cost too much, but it started a war that is costing taxpayers a billion dollars every single day. It is time to stand up and demand a stop to this war before we suffer more damage that cannot be undone.

Unprovoked, Unwarranted, and Unconstitutional

This war was unprovoked, unwarranted, and unconstitutional,” said Ginger Murray, responding to the President’s decision to begin military action in Iran. “The law is clear, and the President did not follow it.”

Murray pointed to Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution, which gives Congress the sole power to declare war, and to the War Powers Resolution of 1973, which allows the president to initiate military action only when an imminent threat exists. She noted that no such evidence has been presented.

“Our country is governed by elected officials who take an oath to defend our Constitution,” Murray said. “Congress, and only Congress, can declare war and approve funding for our troops.”

“Now, Congress must manage this situation and find a well reasoned plan to resolve this war. We owe it to our troops and to taxpayers to get this right."

Ginger Murray Calls For An End To Dark Money In Politics

Dark money is drowning out the voices of everyday Americans.

We cannot restore faith in our elections or in our democracy without getting dark money out of our campaigns. Corporations and billionaires should never be able to buy our elections. If elected to Congress, I will work diligently to remove dark money from our elections and return power to the people where it belongs.

I strongly support the We the People Amendment. It would end corporate personhood, overturn the Citizens United decision, allow Congress and the states to regulate money in politics, and require full public disclosure of political spending.

I believe in free speech. But you do not have to be a lawyer to recognize that corporations are not people and money is not speech.

Right now, corporate backed dark money groups can spend unlimited amounts in elections. Without transparency, voters have no way to follow the money.

While some of my opponents may be relying on special interest corporate money, I am proud to run a grassroots campaign supported by people across the Northwoods who believe our democracy should belong to the people.

I cannot wait to get to Congress and join the movement to make the We the People Amendment the law of the land.

We have more in common than we have that separates us.”
